The Elite Eight continued on Sunday with two games in both the men’s and women’s brackets as teams jockeyed for Final Four spots.

Zach Edey and the top-seeded Purdue Boilermakers put on a showcase in a showdown with Dalton Knecht and No. 2 Tennessee. Presumptive two-time Player of the Year Edey finished with 40 points and 16 rebounds in a thrilling back-and-forth 72-66 win. DJ Burns followed that up with a dominant performance in the other men’s game, finishing with 29 points as NC State pulled off its upset of Duke.

On the women’s side, South Carolina rolled again but it wasn’t easy against Oregon State. The Gamecocks pulled away late for a 70-58 win. Later, the NC State women knocked out top-seeded Texas with a 76-66 win.

    Burns finished today’s game with 29 points, four rebounds and three assists. He shot 13 of 19 from the field. He’s the face of one of the more remarkable runs in NCAA tournament history.
