NESN beefed up its talent roster for Red Sox coverage Wednesday by hiring someone who is very familiar to baseball fans nationwide.

The network has added former MLB Network contributor and Dodgers sideline reporter Alanna Rizzo as a “general sports reporter and analyst‚” according to a press release. Rizzo’s duties, which begin in May, will include “co-host of the network’s alternate broadcast, “Unobstructed Views presented by Blue Moon”, occasional host and sideline reporter for NESN’s Red Sox coverage, and other general reporting.

Studio host Tom Caron and sideline reporter Jahmai Webster will remain in the lead roles for those positions with Rizzo filling in on occasion. In recent years, when Webster has been off, Caron has filled in as sideline reporter. Adam Pellerin has been the backup pregame and postgame host.

Webster has been the lead sideline host since 2021, when Guerin Austin departed NESN.

Rizzo, a Colorado native, began her baseball broadcasting career as a Rockies host and in-game reporter for ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain from 2007 to 2011. She has appeared on MLB Network since 2012, serving as a regular contributor to was a regular contributor on “High Heat” with Christopher Russo from 2021 to 2024 as well as shows like Intentional Talk and Quick Pitch. In Los Angeles, Rizzo spent seven seasons as an in-game reporter and host for SportsNet Los Angeles covering the Dodgers. She also currently contributes to “Foul Territory.”

“I’m beyond excited to bring my passion, energy, and storytelling to such a historic and respected network,” Rizzo said in a statement released by NESN. “NESN has an incredible legacy, and I can’t wait to be a part of sharing Red Sox baseball with some of the most passionate fans in the world.”

In March, the network released its original talent roster for the 2025 Red Sox season with Dave O’Brien returning as the play-by-play voice alongside lead analyst Lou Merloni, as well as Will Middlebrooks and Kevin Millar as color analysts. Mike Monaco, who is expected to make his 2025 NESN debut on the team’s next road trip, will have occasional play-by-play duties as well. Lenny DiNardo, Deven Marrero, Jonathan Papelbon and Jim Rice are the studio analysts alongside Caron and Pellerin. Rizzo is the latest addition to the group.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Alanna to the NESN team,” said NESN COO Matt Volk. “Her impressive track record as a sports journalist and reporter, combined with deep knowledge of baseball and energetic storytelling, will continue to elevate our coverage across platforms and enhance our baseball coverage on the network.”
