The owners of the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty, Clara Wu and Joe Tsai, are “ending their nearly 30-year marriage.” In a statement to PAGE SIX, a spokesperson for the couple said the divorce was “amicable” and that it will not “affect the business operations of Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment” nor their teams, with Joe remaining as chairman and Clara as vice chair of the company and both retaining their governor roles (Joe with the Nets, Clara with the Liberty). Over time, they plan to “involve their children,” who are all adults, in running their sports holdings. The statement also noted there would be no changes with Joe’s tech firm, Alibaba, and that there are “no plans to sell shares” and that his role as chairman “will not be affected” by their divorce (PAGE SIX).
