Manvel Town Center is welcoming a new 124,000-square-foot Lowe’s as two popular food concepts are also looking to join the growing retail hub about 20 miles south of downtown Houston.

Irvine, California-based In-N-Out Burger and Oak Brook, Illinois-based hot dog chain Portillo’s Inc. are among several additional tenants that are under lease negotiations for space there.

Lowe’s Companies Inc. opened the new store at 21606 state Highway 288 on Jan. 22 and will have a grand opening celebration on Jan. 30 at 9:30 a.m., with more activities planned on Jan. 31. The home improvement giant occupies 94,000 square feet of indoor retail space and 30,000 square feet of outdoor garden space and employs more than 100. It is one of the first two Lowe’s to feature self-service paint kiosks, where customers can choose the right paint and place their order on an interactive touchscreen.
