SNOWBIRD, Utah — A stunning new mid-mountain restaurant highlights significant improvements Snowbird is unveiling for the 2025-26 season, which will kick off on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27.

The new 355-seat glass restaurant called The Nest – a name chosen out of three finalists by Snowbird guests and social media followers in July – also includes 90 outdoor seats on a heated deck with views of Gad Valley, the American Fork Twin Peaks and down Little Cottonwood Canyon.

“We are excited for our guests to experience what I believe is one of the most stunning on-mountain dining experiences in North America,” said Dave Fields, Snowbird President and GM. “The architecture and menu are a perfect complement to Snowbird’s terrain, natural beauty and passionate skiers and riders.”

Hatching The Nest

The glass restaurant, designed by GSBS Architects and built by Layton Construction, sits at the top of the Mid-Gad chairlift, in the heart of Gad Valley. Featuring 145 floor-to-ceiling Swiss glass panels and self-serve fare from sumptuous burgers to Indian and Caribbean fare, The Nest is scheduled to open Dec. 10, 2025. The Nest can be accessed from Mid-Gad, Gad 2, Little Cloud and Gadzoom chairlifts or the Aerial Tram.

More Snow-Related Tech and Tail-Wags

Snowbird’s on-mountain upgrades also include snowmaking and avalanche mitigation. 12 new energy-efficient and high-output snow guns will be added to high-traffic runs around the resort, while four Wyssen avalanche towers join the 17 already on the mountain to help open terrain more efficiently.

Billie, Snowbird’s newest avalanche dog – a keen‑nosed recruit, named in a nod to the famed outlaw—is set to begin her on‑snow training with Snowbird Ski Patrol this winter. Paired with an experienced handler, the Black Labrador puppy will integrate into patrol exercises throughout the season as her skills advance.

Arrive Hungry, Leave Happy

Improvements to Snowbird’s lodging and dining scene go beyond The Nest. Led by the new Head Chef Hector Armendariz, The Aerie features an elevated menu of American favorites with a touch of international influence. Those looking to take their meals even higher than the 10th floor of The Cliff Lodge can visit Utah’s highest restaurant, The Summit, where Full Moon Dinners at 11,000 feet now seat twice as many guests. At the base of the mountain, The Tram Club has added non-alcoholic beer on tap for those who want all the atmosphere, without the buzz.

Lodging guests are encouraged to take advantage of the Stay & Save special. Book on Snowbird’s website and save up to 32 percent. These savings apply to lift tickets, rentals and demos, select Mountain School lessons and Fast Tracks.

“Every upgrade this season is for the skiers and riders who want more from their mountain, and aren’t afraid to earn it,” says Fields. “We like to say, ‘Give me the Bird’ and this year we are giving our guests even more of what they love about The Bird.”
