The NFL has announced that the 2026 draft will take place in Pittsburgh, continuing the trend of moving the event around the country. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell noted that “we’re thrilled to partner with the Pittsburgh Steelers and VisitPITTSBURGH for our 2026 event”. “The NFL draft is one of the biggest, most-anticipated sporting events of the year…We have a unique opportunity to spotlight this wonderful community on a global stage, benefiting Pittsburgh’s economy and entertaining football fans from all markets,” said Roger Goodell, NFL Commissioner. The league moved the draft out of New York after the 2014 edition, with the NFL now accepting bids from cities to host the event. The 2024 draft was held in a theater constructed on Campus Martius Park in Detroit, with the opening day clocking a record 225,000 spectators. Green Bay is set to host next year’s draft, making it the ninth city to host the event, with only Chicago, in 2015 and 2016, repeating as a host. Arlington, Texas and Kansas City, Missouri, along with Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Nashville and Cleveland, have also hosted the event.
