Fullback Kyle “Juice” Juszczyk was not just fined for his juice-chug celebration in the 49ers’ Week 2 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
The NFL ordered a double.
Juszczyk was fined twice in the amount of $14,926 for unsportsmanlike conduct, specifically “Illegal celebrations and vulgar acts,” the NFL announced on Saturday.
The NFL fined players around the league for 13 incidents this week under the same description.
Juszczyk, who has done the celebration regularly throughout his time with the 49ers, will appeal the fines totaling $29,852, he said this week. He had never been fined previously for the celebration.
One fine came as a result of Juszczyk’s celebration after catching a 21-yard pass from quarterback Brock Purdy in the third quarter. Two minutes later, he and Purdy teamed up for a 6-yard touchdown, and Juszczyk again celebrated.
The NFL apparently did not consider that Juszczyk was celebrating with anything other than an alcoholic beverage.
Two other players on the 49ers were fined for their actions in the 49ers’ 35-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
Defensive lineman Keion White was fined $13,770 for an illegal hit on Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis. The infraction came from White landing on Willis with his body weight, according to the NFL.
Defensive back Upton Stout was fined $7,501 for taunting, the NFL said.
