Well, nine edge defenders remain available, perhaps because the top overall free agent, Trey Hendrickson, hasn’t yet found a landing spot.
The offensive tackle market has also been slow, with Rasheed Walker (No. 12) leading nine still available in the Top 150. Could teams be waiting on a resolution to Trent Williams’ contract impasse with the 49ers?
Plenty of wide receivers remain in the Top 150, but almost all of them are older players seeking their third or fourth contracts, making teams hesitant to shell out much guaranteed money. That’s similar to the markets at tight end, guard and safety.
And, of course, there are complications in the quarterback market. Because of the transition tag, Daniel Jones can’t negotiate with other teams until 4 p.m. ET Wednesday. Kyler Murray and Kirk Cousins have yet to be officially released. Aaron Rodgers has yet to say whether he’s playing in 2026. Joe Flacco, Russell Wilson and Tyrod Taylor are likely waiting on others to find chairs first.
Action is coming eventually, but don’t expect it to come as quickly as it did on Monday.
