The NHL and NHLPA’s content collaboration with Italian soccer league Serie A will come to life on Friday when their European Player Media Tour arrives in Milan. The annual offseason event, which offers international rightsholders and news outlets an opportunity to capture content featuring the league’s top European players, was scheduled to coincide with the start of the 2025-26 Serie A season on Saturday.

The league and union see the collaboration as an opportunity to generate buzz for NHL players’ return to the Winter Olympic Games in Milan this February. Among the 26 NHL players expected to attend European Player Media Tour, seven have already been named to preliminary Olympic rosters: Hurricanes C Sebastian Aho (Finland); Blackhawks LW Lukas Reichel (Germany); Stars D Miro Heiskanen (Finland); Red Wings D Moritz Seider (Germany) and LW Lucas Raymond (Sweden); Devils C Nico Hischier (Switzerland); and Maple Leafs RW William Nylander (Sweden).

In Milan, a delegation from the NHL and NHLPA will visit Inter Milan’s training facility before attending AC Milan’s opening match at San Siro Stadium. AC Milan’s roster includes USMNT players Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah. The visits will will include jersey exchanges and meetings with Serie A legends, which will be featured in social and digital content.

Serie A will also participate in the NHL International Broadcaster Summit, offering insight into how the league works with its global broadcast partners and its marketing and content strategies.
