The basics:
- Statewide Hispanic Chamber hosts FIFA World Cup 2026 business networking event
- Aims to help Latino-owned small businesses capitalize on world’s largest sporting event
- Tournament expected to bring 1M+ visitors, $3B economic boost
A networking event for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 aims to empower New Jersey’s diverse small business community – especially Latino-owned enterprises – to capitalize on the unprecedented economic opportunity associated with the world’s largest sporting event.
Hosted by the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, in partnership with Evolvere Consulting and Valencia Media Group, the Countdown to the World Cup 2026 Cocktail Event brings together business leaders, business owners and other key stakeholders. It takes place from 6-10 p.m. June 10 at The Gameroom at American Dream in East Rutherford.
“This isn’t just a soccer moment – it’s a business movement,” said SHCCNJ President and CEO Carlos Medina. “We’re inviting the business community to take the field with us and shape the economic future of our region.”
“Small businesses aren’t waiting – they’re preparing to serve visitors from around the world,” said Gus Penaranda, CEO and president, Evolvere Consulting.
Organizers note the projected impact of next year’s World Cup, with more than 1 million anticipated visitors expected to generate an economic boost of some $3 billion and 14,000 jobs. To capitalize, SHCCNJ is helping small businesses compete for contracts, build partnerships and benefit — mobilizing its 7,000 members and 120,000-strong Hispanic business network.
“Soccer is a powerhouse in New Jersey, with unmatched passion and economic potential,” said Medina. “This countdown ensures our business community is ready to lead, grow and seize the moment.”
‘Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity’

“As a lifelong soccer fanatic – this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tap into the energy and turn it into meaningful impact for our businesses and communities,” said SHCCNJ Chairman Luis De La Hoz .
The event will feature the unveiling of an art exhibit by Italian sculptor Dante Mortet. The piece pays tribute to soccer icons, such as Pele and more. The exhibit is presented by BCB Bank.
“Our mission extends beyond financial services – we are deeply invested in the cultural vitality of the communities we serve throughout New Jersey and New York,” said Ryan Blake, chief operating officer, BCB Bank. “Partnering with Dante reflects our commitment to fostering artistic excellence and promoting meaningful public dialogue.”
