Format
In each match, both teams will compete with rosters of 16 swimmers and two divers in each gender, with each swimmer competing in a maximum of three events.
 
Each match will feature seven individual events, two diving events with six rounds, and two relays. Each round will utilize a different order of events, with most changes coming in the 100 and 200-yard events and relays; each match will involve the 50y freestyle, 500y freestyle, 200y IM, a 200y relay, and a 400y relay.
 
The men’s and women’s point totals will be combined to determine the winner of each match.
 
All eight teams are guaranteed to compete in three dual meets, with winning teams moving on in the main bracket toward the championship meet with non-advancing teams moving to the consolation bracket.
 
Fast Facts

  • No. 9/12 Georgia continues its early season by competing in the first-ever Dual Meet Tournament, held at Georgia Tech’s McAuley Aquatic Center. This weekend’s competition, involving five ranked programs in 12 total meets, will be the first of multiple trips to Atlanta, which is also hosting the NCAA Championships in March.
  • The Bulldogs are returning to the road after splitting their SEC opener last week at South Carolina. The Georgia men improved to 2-0 with a 218-76 victory over the Gamecocks, while the women fell, 157-141, in a tight contest.
  • In her collegiate debut, freshman Kennedi Dobson announced her arrival with a tremendous performance, earning four wins on the afternoon. In the 1,000y freestyle, the Levittown, Pennsylvania native took first with a personal-best time of 9:29.94, becoming the third-fastest performer in program history and posting the seventh-fastest time in program history. Immediately after the 1,000, Dobson placed first with an NCAA-qualifying time of 1:43.40, becoming the No. 10 performer in program history. She earned her third win in the 500y freestyle with a personal-best NCAA cut of 4:36.32, followed by swimming leadoff on the victorious 400y freestyle relay.
  • Sophomore Drew Hitchcock earned three individual wins for the second-consecutive meet, headlined by a personal-best NCAA cut of 45.95 in the 100y butterfly, moving into sixth all-time in program history. The Hickory, North Carolina native touched first in the 200y butterfly with an NCAA cut of 1:41.36, followed by a winning 1:44.98 in the 200y IM.
  • Junior Matthew Bray remained unbeaten in diving, as he swept the springboards with Zone-qualifying scores. Bray finished first on 1-meter with a 326.78, followed by a mark of 371.25 on 3-meter.
