A warehouse that caught on fire in Medley on Saturday prompted a swift response by rescue crews.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, crews arrived at the warehouse near the 7500 block of Northwest 82nd Place.
Fire rescue said that heavy smoke and flames were coming from the warehouse, and due to the size of the warehouse, extra units were called to the scene.
Thirty MDFR units were at the scene to assist with extinguishing the flames.
As crews continued to put out the fire, the warehouse’s roof partially collapsed.
“We did have workers at the time when the fire started inside, everyone was evacuated safely, we don’t have the number yet of how many people were evacuated but it was a working warehouse at the time of the fire, and we don’t have the cause of the fire, but we do have an investigator on scene working on that,” said a firefighter.
No injuries were reported.
NBC6 tried to speak with employees and truck drivers at the business, but nobody wanted to speak.
Businesses near the warehouse were not affected by the fire.
Crews were able to put the fire under control.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
