TAOS — Contour Airlines and the Town of Taos announced new direct flights between Taos Regional Airport (SKX) and Denver International Airport (DEN), to launch on Thursday, June 26.
To celebrate the launch, the Town of Taos will host a ceremonial ribbon-cutting noon to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 26, at Taos Regional Airport, which is open to the public. The first inaugural Contour flight from Denver is scheduled to arrive at Taos Regional Airport at 12:50 p.m. and depart at 1:20 p.m. back to Denver.
“This agreement with Contour to provide direct flights from Taos to Denver International Airport signifies the culmination of years of air service development designed to meet the needs of locals and visitors,” Taos Mayor Pascualito Maestas said. “Taoseños now have convenient access to the world at an affordable rate.”
The ribbon-cutting event will include remarks from Town of Taos officials and representatives from Contour Airlines, commemorating the new connection to one of the nation’s busiest travel hubs.
“We’re thrilled to introduce non-stop service to Taos, New Mexico, from Denver International Airport,” Contour Airlines President Ben Munson said. “This new route not only highlights our commitment to connecting communities but also, through our interline partnerships with American, Alaska, and United Airlines, makes accessing the beauty and culture of Taos more seamless than ever.”
The new Taos-DIA-Taos flights will operate three times weekly: Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays – offering convenient access to the iconic landscapes and vibrant culture of Taos while also providing Northern New Mexico residents with seamless connectivity through Denver.
“We are excited to welcome Contour Airlines to the Taos Regional Airport,” Airport Manager Colton Rapstine said. “The new flight service will bring increased travel options and economic benefits to our community. This type of expansion allows us to grow responsibly while offering travelers a true Taos experience.”
