CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man was charged over the weekend after officers found marijuana during a traffic stop for an expired registration in Clarksburg.
On May 25, officers with the Clarksburg Police Department were near the Kompak Store in Northview when they observed a blue Toyota with an expired registration leaving the area, according to a criminal complaint.
When officers pulled the vehicle over, they made contact with Ian Criss, 39, and “detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” and Criss “verbally admitted to not having insurance,” officers said.
Officers then searched the vehicle and located a “clear tub” containing 100 grams of marijuana, a “clear glass jar” containing 30 grams of marijuana, a “black jar” containing 1.83 grams of marijuana, as well as bags “commonly used for packaging” and $272 in cash, according to the complaint.
Criss has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He is being held in North Central Regional Jail.
