Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed left the field on a cart with his head stabilized after a frightening scene during Sunday’s overtime victory against the New York Jets.
The Packers quickly ruled him out with a neck injury.

Packers right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele also left in the first quarter with a knee injury and was ruled out. The Packers rallied from a 17-7 fourth-quarter deficit for a 20-17 win in overtime.
Reed has movement in his extremities
After the game, head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters that Reed would remain in New York overnight, but that he had movement in all of his extremities.
“He’s got movement in all his extremities,” LaFleur said in his postgame news conference. “He will be staying overnight. That was obviously a very scary deal any time you see anybody down on the field and have to get carted off.”

LaFleur didn’t offer details on the nature of Reed’s injury. Reed, meanwhile, offered an encouraging update of his own on social media.
LaFleur also said that Bako-Bewele’s injury “doesn’t look good either.”
“He could be out for a long time,” LaFleur said, without noting the precise nature of Bako-Bewele’s knee injury.
Reed carted off after being placed on backboard
Jets linebacker Demario Davis made contact to Reed’s head with his shoulder pad on a hit in the first quarter. Reed was face down on the ground for a moment before rolling over to his back.
Medical staff immediately tended to Reed, and Packers players left their bench to surround their injured teammate as a cart came out.
Trainers put Reed on a backboard and stabilized his head before placing him on a cart. Reed was then taken off the field on the cart.

Reed, 26, is a fourth-year pro who’s played his entire career for the Packers since being selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He’s the No. 2 receiver on Green Bay‘s depth chart behind Christian Watson.
Collarbone and foot injuries limited Reed to seven games in 2025. In his last full NFL season in 2024, Reed tallied 55 catches for 857 yards and 6 touchdowns. He posted three catches for 20 yards in Green Bay’s Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
