Pasco, Wash — The City of Pasco is hosting their first ever Folklorico Ballet showcase this weekend in honor of Mexican Independence Day.

The showcase is called ” Raices del Corazon.”

There will be four dance groups from different regions of Mexico.

There will be varies Mexican food vendor selling food and drinks.

The Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring this event and discussed how this is a great opportunity for the community to learn more about the Mexican culture.

” Baile folkloric is like just the brightness, the colors, the dance, you’ll get the experience a little bit of the Hispanic culture. But this is just important coming to Pasco , because it’s these dances, these directors, what they do is they keep this tradition alive. You don’t see this all over the place. So they do they do their best to learn the dances from down there, and then bring it here and show the rest of Tri-Cities ” said Raul Contreras, Assistant Director of Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

The showcase is Saturday, September 6th at Peanut Park in downtown Pasco.

The time of the showcase will be from 3pm to 6pm.

Entry is free.
