PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Three East Valley sisters had to cancel their European trip, and when they didn’t get their promised full refund, they called On Your Side.

When it comes to traveling, Jo Ann Minor and her siblings say nothing beats Italy. They’ve already been to Rome and Venice. “We have a lot of things on our bucket list, but we do love Italy,” Minor told On Your Side.

And now, Minor and her two sisters want to visit Naples. “You normally use a travel agent but you didn’t this time?” On Your Side’s Gary Harper asked. “Exactly. This time, Deb (sister) decided she’d go ahead and do all the arrangements herself and so she decided to go through Booking.com,” Minor said.

Documents from Booking.com indicate that the three sisters, Jo Ann, Deb and Linda Minor, were all confirmed on a flight and paid $3,071.28. But as soon as they booked, the sisters realized their departure dates wouldn’t work after all and they were forced to cancel. “How soon after the reservations were made did you cancel?” Harper asked. “It was within the hour? Yes,” Linda said.

Deb, who paid Booking.com with her credit card, received a notice from the travel company confirming the cancellation and that she’d be getting a “full refund.”

But that “full refund” turned out to be a “partial refund” because Booking.com didn’t refund $851.28 for their seat selections and the sisters can’t get an answer as to why and they want their $851. “This is not a full refund,” Jo Ann said.

On Your Side got involved and we asked Booking.com to look into the matter and to consider returning the $851 in seat selections. On Your Side is waiting to hear Booking.com’s decision, but for now, the women just want the money returned. “It’s the point of it. This is a huge company and they’ve already given us back our airline refund. So, why are they keeping our seating money? It didn’t make any sense,” Jo Ann said.
