Airport highlights growing lineup of new local vendors in celebration of Airport Concessions Day

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is joining airports across North America to celebrate Airport Concessions Day, observed on Sept. 16. The celebration comes as the airport continues a major concessions refresh designed to expand local restaurants and shops at America’s Friendliest Airport®.

“We are bringing more local restaurants and shops so travelers can enjoy the best of Phoenix,” said Aviation Director Chad Makovsky. “The local spots mixed with recognizable national brands means visits to Phoenix Sky Harbor offer something for everyone.”

Also known as America’s Tastiest Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor is recognized for dining options praised by travelers, culinary experts, and media outlets. Visitors can enjoy fine dining, award-winning concepts, family-friendly meals, fast-casual favorites, grab-and-go spots, well-loved local restaurants, and national favorites.

There are more than 125 concessions operating in the Phoenix Airport System. Their total annual revenue in 2025 was $378 million, supporting hundreds of jobs and a significant economic boost.

Phoenix Sky Harbor is refreshing its concessions program to offer more options for passengers to enjoy the city’s vibrant food scene and authentic flavors. Several new local dining concepts are set to begin opening in Terminal 4 starting in late 2026 through the end of 2027:

  • Cactus & Cow Burger Bar, created by Arizona chef Mark Tarbell, will serve fresh burgers and classic comfort dishes;
  • Greenwood Brewing, an award-winning and woman-owned brewery in downtown Phoenix, will offer craft beer inspired by Arizona’s culture, along with cocktails, wine and a menu that reflects the flavors of Arizona;
  • Ingo’s Tasty Food, a Phoenix favorite from the Arcadia neighborhood, will feature scratch-made comfort meals with locally sourced ingredients, plus coffee and cocktail options;
  • Inspired by its farm-to-table location in south Phoenix, The Farm at South Mountain will introduce four concepts in one space. The Farm Kitchen will serve lunch. Morning Glory Café will offer breakfast. The Coffee Bar will serve coffee, pastries, and snacks. The Bar at PHX will offer cocktails, local beer, wine and light bites.

Terminal 4’s concessions revamp also includes Collins Small Batch Kitchen, featuring chef‑inspired recipes prepared in small batches; The Macintosh, serving modern comfort food with Southwest influences; and The Mexicano by Chef Joey, which will showcase bold Mexican flavors.

The refresh extends to Terminal 4’s pre-security area. Gong cha, a global bubble tea brand with nearly 2,200 locations in 33 international markets, will open its first U.S. airport location at Phoenix Sky Harbor by the end of 2026. Panera Bread is also planned for Terminal 4’s pre-security area.

Travelers can explore local shops throughout the airport, including Arizona Highways, Bunky Boutique, and Indigenous. These stores highlight regional craftsmanship, Arizona-made gifts, and unique items created by local artisans.

Like the restaurants, many popular retail shops at Phoenix Sky Harbor, including AZCentral.com, Lucky Break, and Saltillo & Sage, partner with small local businesses that provide products inspired by Arizona’s distinct identity. At AZCentral.com you can grab a bottle of wine from Bruzzi Vineyard in Gila County. Other local products you can pick up include treats like cactus candy and prickly pear taffy at Cactus Candy, Shorty’s Sandwich Shop sandwiches from Peet’s Coffee & Tea shops, and The Best Bar healthy snack bars, available at Arizona Roadtrip, Camelback Provisions, Greetings from Arizona and Roosevelt Row. These partnerships allow passengers to buy authentic Arizona-made goods while supporting small businesses and helping them reach travelers from across the country and the world.

The 15 locally based small businesses in Phoenix Sky Harbor’s terminal concessions program generated more than $89 million in revenue last year, demonstrating strong economic returns that stay in Arizona communities.

Travelers will also see a boost to Phoenix Sky Harbor’s offerings in the new concourse under construction at Terminal 3, which will add about 173,000 square feet for new passenger gates, shops, restaurants and amenities. That construction is expected to be finished in 2027.

And airport concessions are not just at PHX. Visitors to Phoenix Deer Valley Airport can enjoy Barrio Brewing Co., Arizona’s oldest brewery.

During the week of Sept. 14, Phoenix Sky Harbor will recognize its concessions program on its social media channels to showcase the variety of dining and retail options available to travelers.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, America’s Friendliest Airport®, has an annual economic impact of more than $44 billion. On an average day, approximately 1,300 aircraft and more than 140,000 passengers arrive at and depart from Phoenix Sky Harbor. PHX is funded with airport revenue. No tax dollars are used to support the airport.
