DECATUR, Ga. — Placita Latina took over Ponce De Leon Avenue in downtown Decatur on Sept. 20 for an evening of Latin American culture, music and community during the annual Salsa on the Square.
The celebration featured more than 50 food and art vendors, nonstop music, and free dance lessons.
Other events celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15) include the 5th Annual Placita Latina Exhibition, presented by the Decatur Arts Alliance. This juried exhibition showcases Latino and Hispanic artists who explore the theme “Nuestra Tierra” — a powerful reflection on heritage, resilience, and belonging. The exhibition celebrates identity, memory, and cultural pride through visual storytelling.
