The office campus where Samsung Electronics is planning to place its new U.S. headquarters is up for sale.
The three office buildings listed for sale at Legacy Central represent 706,395 square feet of office space in Plano, according to the listing from real estate firm JLL. The office campus includes tenants like Cheil, Freddie Mac, Nokia, Publicis and Samsung Electronics.
Legacy Central is an 85-acre mixed-use development with 1 million square feet of office space, according to Plano Economic Development.
JLL senior managing director Jonathan Napper first posted about the Legacy Central listing on LinkedIn about two months ago. The listing is being marketed by Napper, Macki McKim, Bailey Wood, Mike McDonald and Mark Katz of JLL. The firm declined to comment for this story and the listing did not include a price for the office buildings.
The site was originally constructed in 1985 as the corporate headquarters of Texas Instruments, according to the listing. The campus was redeveloped from 2016 to 2021.
Regent Properties bought the Legacy Central site in 2016 and announced plans to repurpose the property, according to previous reporting from The Dallas Morning News. In 2020, a unit of Hana Financial formed a venture with Regent Properties to recapitalize part of Legacy Central.
The office campus has a 100% occupancy rate and a 5.3-year average lease term representing $145 million in contractual revenue, according to the listing.
Samsung confirmed to The News in June that it would be moving its U.S. headquarters to its existing Plano campus at 6625 Excellence Way within Legacy Central.
Samsung Electronics’ previous U.S. headquarters was in Englewood, N.J. The transition is expected to be complete by the end of the year. As part of the relocation, the company laid off hundreds of employees, mostly from its Englewood location.
Samsung’s operations in the Legacy Central development were first consolidated there in 2019. The company expanded the office, adding 70,000 square feet in 2020, according to previous reporting from The News. Samsung also added 60,000 square feet at another building in the development in 2021 and added 33,000 square feet of office space in 2023 at The Tennyson in Legacy, a business park nearby.
Dallas-Fort Worth has been a hub for corporate headquarters relocations. North Texas gained 11 new headquarters from out of state in 2025, more than any other U.S. metro area, according to commercial real estate firm CBRE. In addition to Samsung’s relocation, AT&T is planning to move its headquarters from downtown Dallas to Plano by 2028.
