SAN ANTONIO – The push for a high-speed rail between San Antonio and Austin is picking up steam yet again.
This week, several city council members and local state reps signed off a letter advocating for reliable rail transit.

Take a look at this letter posted on social media by an Austin City Councilman.
It’s signed by 20 South Texas elected officials, including San Antonio leaders Sukh Kaur, Jalen McKee Rodriguez, Melissa Cabello Havrda, and Manny Palaez, all agreeing that this form of transportation is needed.
“With such a booming population looming in the near future, it is more important than ever to ensure that we are making the necessary investments to keep people moving,” the letter reads. “And not just waiting in traffic on I-35. To that end, we believe that a robust suite of mobility options, especially rail, is vital to keeping our region a shining beacon of success and excellence.”
