Power outages impact over 7,000 customers overnight

SALT LAKE CITY —Rocky Mountain Power Company reported 25 power outages overnight and into Tuesday morning, impacting around 7,400 customers.

The outages were recorded in Tooele and Utah counties. Although Rocky Mountain Power had not specified the cause as of 7 a.m. on Tuesday, the cause of the outages in each county was likely unrelated, with approximately 1,000 people affected in Tooele and about 6,600 affected in Utah County.

Reports came in for areas near Payson, Santaquin and Mona around 11:30 p.m. on Monday night. Outages in Tooele were first reported around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The fix, according to Rocky Mountain Power’s interactive map, showed before 7:30 a.m. in Utah County as of approximately 7 a.m. Tuesday. Tooele’s estimated fix time was set for before 5 p.m.
