This weekend on In Focus, we discuss the long-range planning for traffic safety, as upstate New York communities undertake infrastructure and other improvement projects. Sandy Misiewicz, executive director of the Capital Region Transportation Council, sat down with JoDee Kenney. This Metropolitan Planning Organization, like many others across New York State, coordinates with state and local government, transportation, and transit organizations to help ease traffic congestion and position each region for future growth. CRTC, Misiewicz said, the most important part of any project involves receiving feedback and input from drivers and community members at the initial planning level, allowing all design options and impacts to be explored.
The Capital Region Transportation Council is soliciting public feedback on two ongoing initiatives. Surveys are available at capitalregionvisionzero.org and inmotionplan.org.
