The Atlanta Press Club will host general election debates Oct. 8 with candidates for Atlanta mayor, city council president and Georgia’s Public Service Commission (PSC), as part of its Loudermilk Young Debate Series, it announced Wednesday.
The debates at the WABE studios are not open to the public but will be broadcast via WABE radio and television (schedule to come). They will be available on demand at WABE’s website, and the Atlanta Press Club’s website and YouTube channel.
Here is the schedule for the Oct. 8 debates, with confirmed candidates as of press time:
- PSC District 2 debate at 9 a.m. between Republican incumbent Tim Echols and Democrat Alicia Johnson. Candidate confirmations pending.
- PSC District 3 debate at 10 a.m. between Republican incumbent Fitz Johnson and Democrat Peter Hubbard. Hubbard is confirmed.
- Atlanta City Council President debate at 11 a.m.between District 11 Councilmember Marci Collier Overstreet and Center for Civic Innovation founder Rohit Malhotra. Both candidates have confirmed.
- Atlanta mayoral debate at noon between Mayor Andre Dickens, Helmut “Love” Domalgaski, Kalema Jackson, and Eddie Andrew Meredith. All candidates have confirmed, except Dickens.
