LINCOLN, Neb. (Dec. 6) | Florida A&M volleyball continued to reach new heights in 2024 – recording the fourth-most wins in the school’s regular season history, winning the Southwestern Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, and returning to the NCAA Tournament. So, despite the finish, this is a season to be proud of.

Florida A&M took on the No. 2 seed, Nebraska, in the first round of the NCAAs, and fell 3-0 (25-3, 25-9, 25-17).

NOTES

  • FAMU finished the season 27-7, 16-0 in the SWAC; the win tally ties for the fourth-most in the school’s single-season history.
  • Head coach Gokhan Yilmaz has guided the Rattlers to three NCAA appearances in four seasons.
  • Jada Rhodes recorded a team-high seven kills.
  • Brooke Lynn Watts finished with a team-high six digs and six kills.
  • Florida A&M attackers were helped by a team-high eight assists from Makenzie Taylor.

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET ONE | Nebraska jumped out to an early 11-1 lead and padded it from there. Rhodes was credited with both of FAMU’s kills.

SET TWO | The Cornhuskers led from the first point.

SET THREE | Watts recorded the first kill of the set to help the Rattlers to a 1-0 advantage and then added two more to make the score, 5-4. The visitors lost their advantage on a 4-0 Cornhusker run.
