Nike is among a handful of companies reporting earnings next week
April kicks off with a holiday-shortened week, with markets closed at the end of the week to observe Good Friday. The end of March will pack in some last-minute key economic data, however, with retail sales, manufacturing data, and the latest employment report on tap. Though the earnings docket will remain quiet, but Cal-Maine Foods (CALM), Conagra (CAG), McCormick (MKC), and Nike (NKE) are set to announce results.
Below is the schedule of key market events for the week ahead. All economic dates are tentative and subject to change.
There is no economic data slated for release on Monday, March 30.
Tuesday, March 31 features S&P Case-Shiller home price index, the Chicago Business Barometer purchasing managers index (PMI), and consumer confidence data. Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee will also deliver remarks.
Retail sales data is due out Wednesday, April 1, in addition to business inventories, the final S&P final U.S. manufacturing PMI, as well as Institute for Supply Management (ISM) manufacturing data. St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem is due to speak.
Thursday, April 2 brings weekly jobs data and a U.S. trade deficit update.
Markets will be closed on Friday, April 3, to observe Good Friday, but the U.S. employment report, hourly wages, and the S&P final U.S. services PMI are on tap.
