Return of the listing: Houston’s ‘Darth Vader house’ back on the market

The home at 3201 University Blvd. has been listed with an initial asking price of $7.77 million.

HOUSTON — West University Place’s infamous “Darth Vader house” is back on the market just one year after the home found a new owner — and the seller has more than doubled the home’s asking price.

A listing on the Houston Association of Realtors’ website says the 7,000-square-foot home at 3201 University Blvd. — which is known for its dark, angled stone exterior leading up to a sloped aluminum roof — has been listed for $7.77 million.

When the home sold last year to acclaimed Mexican sculptor and photographer Enrique Cabrera, it was purchased for between $3.31 million and $3.83 million, according to HAR.com. Nan & Company Properties, which represented the buyer, confirmed the final price was $3.4 million.

The latest HAR listing of the house describes it as a “private gallery-meets-residence” that blends architecture, curated interiors and museum-quality art into a cohesive living experience.
