The homegrown Julian’s Italian Pizzeria & Kitchen chain has finally set an approximate opening date for the Southtown location it’s been teasing on social media since late May.

Julian’s Pizza and More, located in the former Barrio Dogg space at 620 S. Presa St., could be serving up pies as soon as the second week of October, Axios reports, citing Hannah Solis, the daughter of the business’ founders.

The Southtown store will be the fourth location for the 19-year-old chain and its first in the center city. The other three are located on West Avenue, Alamo Heights and Bulverde Road.

The Southtown restaurant will feature a different menu from the other locations, mixing new dishes with old favorites, Solis told Axios. It also will feature a mini-market where customers can pick up pasta, beer, wine and other goods.

Julian’s South Presa digs became available this spring when San Diego-based hotdog chain Barrio Dogg, which specialized in loaded Mexican-style hot dogs, withdrew from the San Antonio market after less than a year.
