San Antonio’s three restaurants holding Michelin stars — Mixtli, Isidore and Nicosi — retained those designations in the famous dining guidebook’s latest Texas listings, but no additional Alamo City restaurants earned a star.

Michelin officials confirmed the updates to the Texas guide Thursday morning in a press statement — a departure from the formal awards ceremonies held the past two years in Houston.

“As the Michelin Guide spans over 60 destinations worldwide, we have evolved our approach and diversified the formats through which we unveil our annual restaurant selection,” they said in the statement. “In some cases, instead of a Michelin Guide Ceremony, selections will be released digitally via press release and the Michelin Guide’s digital channels.”

Isidore and Nicosi are both part of the Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group. Isidore chef de cuisine Ian Lanphear and Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group co-founder and chef Kevin Fink were both named to the inaugural class of the Michelin Guide’s Mindful Voices — a program created to recognize influential figures in the culinary world dedicated to redefining what gastronomy means to the modern generation.

Lanphear and Fink were recognized for their dedication to sustainability, a passion that shines at Isidore, where local Texas ingredients are the star of the menu.

The Texas Michelin Guide also recognizes two other categories: Michelin-recommended restaurants, which are noteworthy eateries that don’t quite meet the standards for a star, and Bib Gourmands, restaurants serving high-quality food at affordable prices.

Michelin-recommended restaurants in San Antonio for the 2026 guide include 2M Smokehouse, Garcia’s Mexican Food, Leche de Tigre, Little Em’s Oyster Bar, Lover’s Pizzeria and Petit Coquin — all new additions — along with Reese Bros BBQ and Signature Restaurant, both of which appeared in last year’s guide.

Bib Gourmands in the San Antonio area for the 2026 guide include Cullum’s Attaboy, Ladino, Mezquite, Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery, The Jerk Shack and Seguin’s Burnt Bean Co.

A restaurant being named in the Michelin Guide is considered the highest honor in the food and beverage world.

Created in 1900 by brothers André and Édouard Michelin as an outgrowth of their tire company, the Michelin Guide began as a clever way to encourage motorists to drive more — and wear out their tires faster. It eventually became one of the world’s most prestigious authorities on dining.
