New York and Moncler have been crossing paths for more than two decades—on snowy sidewalks, downtown streets, and, increasingly, the world’s biggest cultural stages. Now, the brand is making that long-running love affair public.

“New York in Moncler,” a citywide open-air exhibition running September 9 to 13 during New York Fashion Week, tells the story of the brand’s enduring relationship with the city. Featuring large-scale photographs installed throughout communal spaces before culminating in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal, the exhibition traces the moments that transformed Moncler’s alpine codes into a distinctly metropolitan uniform.

This is not the kind of retrospective that asks you to stand quietly in front of a wall label. It moves through the landmark venues that define Moncler’s style DNA in the city, from Hammerstein Ballroom, where it staged a choral fashion show in 2014, to Grand Central Terminal, the site of Moncler Grenoble’s dancey 2011 presentation.

Intrinsic to the exhibition is the star power and cultural reach that has made Moncler a fixture of the New York fashion scene. There’s Vittoria Ceretti in a Moncler look at the 2025 Met Gala, the brand’s debut at fashion’s biggest night; Sarah Jessica Parker in a Moncler Genius puffer gown designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli worn on And Just Like That…; and imagery featuring New Yorkers Robert De Niro and Al Pacino.

The exhibition also charts the many ways Moncler’s New York story has expanded beyond the runway. There are photographs from the brand’s Art for Love project at the New York Public Library, a frozen Lincoln Center performance staged during a polar vortex, and more recent portraits of figures like Alicia Keys and Spike Lee.

Fittingly, Keys—whose “Empire State of Mind” is practically a New York anthem—narrates the project’s accompanying film, which follows a model in the brand’s Maya jacket through the city’s past and present.

To cap off the celebration, the brand is set to unveil its largest flagship to date, Moncler Fifth Avenue, the same week, just steps from where the exhibition concludes at Grand Central Terminal.

The new space marks the latest chapter in the brand’s long-running New York story—and a fitting place to begin the next one.
