Scottie Scheffler withdrew from the Texas Children’s Houston Open on Tuesday.
The world No. 1 was expected to make his final start before attempting to don the Green Jacket for a third time in two weeks. The PGA Tour cited family reasons as for why Scheffler withdrew. His wife, Meredith, is pregnant with the couple’s second child.
He finished tied for second at the Tour’s annual stop at Memorial Park in three of the last four years and has never missed the cut in six appearances. Matt Kuchar is in the field as his replacement.
Scheffler, 29, won earlier this year at The American Express but is coming off finishes of T-24 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and T-22 at the Players Championship in his two starts during the Florida Swing.
