PHOENIX — Four new tenants have been added and are now open at Sonora Village, a shopping center in north Scottsdale.

The businesses that joined the shopping center, which is owned by YAM Properties, were Akamaru Japanese Restaurant, bb.q Chicken, Floor & Decor and Dollar Tree.

“Sonora Village continues to evolve in exciting ways, and we’re proud to introduce new tenants that elevate the experience for north Scottsdale,” YAM Properties Director of Real Estate Marta Kenny said in a press release.

“These additions strengthen the momentum of the trade area and support our ongoing lease efforts to create engaging, connected destinations for residents across the Valley.”

Akamaru Japanese Restaurant is an eatery that blends traditional Japanese flavors with modern innovation. Hiro, the chef and owner, has both small kitchen training in Japan as well as in some of the top omakase restaurants in New York City.

The restaurant offers two distinct experiences for customers. Visitors can get dishes like onigirazu rice sandwiches and donburi rice bowls during lunch. However when evening strikes, Akamaru’s menu transforms to focus on small bites, including sashimi, crispy tempura and other shareable plates.

Akamaru is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and reopens from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for dinner.

Another eatery that joined the shopping center was bb.q Chicken, a Korean fried chicken restaurant that’s name stands for “Best of the Best Quality.” It was started in Seoul, South Korea, in 1995 and has since grown to more than 3,500 locations globally.

The restaurant is apparently known for its use of authentic Korean recipes, vibrant flavors and the extra crispy texture of its chicken. In addition its food, bb.q Chicken also has a drink menu that consists of ice-cold beer and Korean soju.

It is open Sunday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Sonora Village also added a Floor & Decor, which operates locations across 38 states. The company is a multi-channel specialty retailer of hard surface flooring and seller commercial surfaces.

It offers an assortment of flooring including laminate, vinyl, tile, wood and natural stone as well as needed installation materials and decorative accessories.

The Floor & Decor is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
