Fleury’s recent expertise with tight ends could lend itself well to the continued development of tight end Elijah Arroyo, a second-round pick who contributed sparingly as a rookie but showed some promised while hauling in 15 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown. AJ Barner could likewise benefit from such a hire after emerging to finish second on the squad in receptions (52) and receiving touchdowns (six), with 519 receiving yards.

There’s also the running game to think about, a key piece of Seattle romp through the playoffs — especially with Zach Charbonnet coming off a torn ACL and Kenneth Walker III being a pending free agent after racking up 313 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the postseason, which he capped off by winning Super Bowl Most Valuable Player.

Overall, though, head coach Mike Macdonald is hoping he’s found someone to carry over the team’s offensive success in the wake of Kubiak’s departure. Seattle finished third in scoring in 2025, the team’s highest ranking in 20 years, and Sam Darnold overcame any lingering negative narratives around him to win a Lombardi Trophy.

Macdonald’s ferocious defense will certainly make the transition smoother, but chances of the Seahawks defending their crown will also hinge on Fleury coming in and keeping the cylinders firing.
