Commercial air service to and from Denver is now available at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport in North Bend. Denver service is offered Wednesday and Sunday through October 23, 2024, on United Express operated by Skywest.

Daily, round-trip service to San Francisco is also available. The airport experienced record-setting numbers of passengers last year who accessed the airport for their travel needs. The number of passengers filling available seats is continuing this year at a record pace.

The Denver connection is a welcomed addition to the service that is offered by United. Airport Executive Director, Rodger Craddock is ecstatic about the return of flights to and from Denver. He adds, “Denver is a major gateway for tourists visiting the south coast and it provides expanded travel options for residents to get to their destinations, visit family or friends, or conduct business.”

The continued increase in passengers through the terminal at the airport is good news for not only South Coast residents and the Coos County Airport District. CCAD is continuing the effort to expand commercial air service for commuters. The number one request is for the airport to provide northbound service to either Portland or Seattle.

In April, the CCAD Board of Commissioners approved an expanded contract with the aviation consulting firm, Volaire Aviation. Airport administration and the board have scheduled a meeting with the consultant to discuss the hurdles in expanding routes and an effective strategy to encourage a northbound flight.

That meeting will be held on May 30, 2024, at 7:30 am at the airport terminal. In addition, airport officials will attend a conference later this year to meet with multiple carriers in person to discuss Portland air service.

The Coos County Airport District is one of 1000 special districts in the State of Oregon. It provides a critical service to citizens on the South Coast and is a vital part of the state’s aviation plan that links to the Oregon Transportation Plan, a long-range vision and policy foundation, to guide transportation system development and investment.
