Oklahoma-Missouri football historyOklahoma-Missouri football series recordWhen was the last time Oklahoma played Missouri?

Oklahoma football will reunite with former Big 12 foe Missouri on Saturday for the first time since the Tigers left the conference after the 2011 season.

The two programs, of course, are now in the SEC, and the Sooners’ matchup on Saturday might also be their best chance to reach bowl eligibility this season, as they currently have five wins with remaining games against Missouri and LSU on the road and Alabama at home.

BRADY COOK INJURY UPDATE:Will Missouri quarterback play vs. Oklahoma?

While Oklahoma holds an overwhelming edge in its all-time series history against Missouri, the two teams certainly played games with huge national implications in their most recent matchups. The No. 1-ranked Sooners won their last matchup against the Tigers in 2011 – a 38-28 win in Norman.

While Oklahoma left behind some old rivalries when it joined the SEC for the 2024 season, it gained one back with Missouri.

Here’s everything to know about Oklahoma history with Missouri, including all-time record:

Oklahoma-Missouri football history

Oklahoma and Missouri first played in 1902, and met in all but one season from 1910-1995.

Once the Big 12 was formed in 1995, however, the two programs didn’t meet each season, as they were placed in opposite divisions in the conference. Oklahoma and Missouri did meet in the Big 12 championship game numerous times, often with national championship implications.

Missouri has played Oklahoma more than any team in the SEC, with the Sooners having only played Texas more. Saturday’s game will mark Oklahoma’s first trip to Columbia since a 2010 meeting that likely remains in the memory of Sooners fans.

The No. 3 Sooners fell to No. 16 Missouri, 36-27 putting a dent in their hopes of making the BCS championship game. A loss two weeks later to Texas A&M all but assured the Sooners would not make the title game.

Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones was 32 of 50 passing for 303 yards with three touchdowns to two interceptions in that game, while future NFL first-round pick Blaine Gabbert was 30 of 42 for 308 yards with a touchdown for Missouri. Oklahoma went on to finish 11-2 on the year with a win over UConn in the Fiesta Bowl, while the Tigers lost back-to-back games to Nebraska and Texas Tech before finishing 10-3 with a loss to Iowa in the Insight Bowl.

Oklahoma-Missouri football series record

Oklahoma holds the all-time edge over Missouri, with wins in seven of its last eight matchups.

Here’s the Sooners’ all-time record vs. the Tigers:

When was the last time Oklahoma played Missouri?
