WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Constitution and Limited Government will hold a hearing on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. ET. The hearing, “Sharia-Free America: Why Political Islam & Sharia Law are Incompatible with the U.S. Constitution: Part II,” will examine how the rise of Sharia law in America poses serious risks to our civil liberties, founding principles, and republican system of government. It will also discuss how Sharia-based institutions may violate federal law and the Constitution. In addition, the hearing will discuss proposed legislative reforms on this topic.
