It was the end of an era when AllStars Gentlemen’s Sports Club shuttered in early 2024 after 30 years of adult-oriented entertainment in San Antonio. The once-lively property has remained quiet until recently, when its deed changed hands, pointing to a sweet revival for the empty building.
According to county records, El Bolillo Bakery, a popular Houston chain of panaderías, has acquired the former home of the San Antonio strip club, where it will soon begin to mold the space into one of its massive, colorful bakeries. MySA reached out to the company for confirmation about El Bolillo Bakery opening its first outpost in the Alamo City.
“Expanding to San Antonio is an incredible milestone,” Andrew Miller, COO of El Bolillo Bakery, said in a statement. “We look forward to sharing the same warmth, tradition, and inclusivity that have made El Bolillo a Houston favorite.”

El Bolillo Bakery was founded in Houston in 1998 and has since grown to have five locations across its home city. The bakery chain is known for its cakes, conchas and various pan dulce confections. Earlier this year, Texas Highways dubbed El Bolillo Bakery the “Buc-ee’s of panaderías” in an article about the business expanding to Austin and Dallas.
A project details page registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists that the estimated cost to make over the defunct club into a full-fledged bakery will be around $1.5 million. Construction on San Antonio’s El Bolillo Bakery is scheduled to begin in February 2026 with a projected end date of August 1, 2026.
