SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Beginning January 6th, the Sioux Gateway Airport will offer a second nonstop flight to Denver through Skywest Airlines, doing business as United Express.
Right now, travelers are able to fly nonstop to Denver on 6:43 p.m. flights. Now, the airline is adding another non-stop flight to Denver that’ll take off at 6:00 a.m.
Barbara Sloniker, the Executive Vice President of Siouxland Chamber of Commerce, says that they’ve met every year with Skywest Airlines, and they’ve had discussions about adding more flights at the Sioux Gateway Airport for quite a while.
“They see the demand in Sioux City. They’ve been wanting to add flights here; but you need to have pilots, you need to have aircraft, it needs to fit into your system, the scheduling. There’s a lot more behind the scenes,” said Sloniker. “I think they’ve wanted to add a flight here in Sioux City for some time. We’re pretty excited about that.”
Sloniker said the chamber has also talked with Skywest about potentially adding another flight to Chicago.
