LARAMIE — The Big 12 Conference announced its top eight seeds at each respective weight for the upcoming conference tournament. Six University of Wyoming student-athletes earned a seed.

Joey Novak (197) led the way. He’s the No. 2 seed after compiling a 19-3 overall record, which included five ranked wins this season. Novak is currently riding a 13-match win streak.

Gabe Willochell (149) garnered the No. 4 seed. He finished the regular season at 16-9 with four ranked wins.

Jared Hill (157) checked in with the No. 5 seed. He was 18-8 on the year with a team-best six ranked victories.

Eddie Neitenbach (184) earned the No. 6 seed. He was 10-5 on the season with a pair of ranked wins.

Riley Davis (174) and Sam Mitchell (HWT) each reeled in the No. 8 seed. Davis was 13-11 this season with a ranked win at 184 pounds, while Mitchell was 20-8 with a ranked victory, as well.

Garrett Ricks (125), Stockton O’Brien (133), Cole Brooks (141) and Cooper Voorhees (165) will all go to the conference tournament unseeded. The full bracket at each weight will be released Monday afternoon.

The Big 12 Tournament stretches from Saturday-Sunday. It’s held inside the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

The rules are simple: What was the player’s impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn’t a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220’s Cody Tucker are Robert Gagliardi, Jared Newland, Ryan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS — only we hope this catalog is fairer.
