ATLANTA (SMU) – No. 31 SMU Men’s Tennis won 4-2 at No. 47 Georgia Tech on Thursday.
The Mustangs won the doubles point with dominant performances on courts two and three, before winning singles contests on courts one, four and five.
Georgi Georgiev and Vikas Deo remain SMU’s winningest doubles pair this season with a 12-3 record while Trevor Svajda and Jerry Barton clinched the doubles point doubles match to improve their record to 11-3.
Barton grabbed his 15th singles win of the season. He is now 15-5 with 11 straight set wins.
Krish Arora claimed his second straight set win in a row, improving his singles record to 12-9.
Svajda won 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 on court one of singles, pushing his unbeaten streak to 11 matches in a row. The junior is now 19-1 in singles matches this spring.
The Mustangs are now 17-9 overall and 7-4 in ACC play as they prepare to visit No. 34 Clemson on Saturday.

The Mustangs won the doubles point with a dominant showing on courts two and three.
Georgi Georgiev and Vikas Deo won against Gianluca Carlini and Elias Shokry on court three (6-3) to start the match.
Georgia Tech’s pair of Hidde Schoenmakers and Christophe Clement defeated Alex Finkelstein and Krish Arora on court one (6-3) but Trevor Svajda and Jerry Barton clinched the point on court two with win over Jonathan Irwanto and Richard Biagiotti (6-2).
Hidde Schoenmakers defeated Alex Finkelstein (6-2, 6-1) to tie it for the hosts on court two, but Barton took back the lead on court five by defeating Elias Shokry (6-2, 6-4).
Arora made it 3-1 for the Mustangs by winning court four over Jonathan Irwanto (7-6(5), 6-2) but the Yellow Jackets responded again with a win on court three.
No. 1-ranked Svajda clinched the match for SMU with a win over Christophe Clement (4-6, 6-2, 6-3) on court one.
