Building community through local business support
Taste of SoMi was created to strengthen South Miami’s local economy while encouraging community engagement and exploration. The initiative aims to:
• Highlight South Miami’s culinary and retail diversity;
• Support local restaurants and retailers;
• Drive foot traffic and economic activity;
• Encourage residents and visitors to shop and dine locally, and
• Create a fun and engaging month-long community experience.

The campaign will be promoted through a robust marketing initiative led by the City of South Miami, including social media campaigns, restaurant and retailer spotlights, local media partnerships, and community engagement efforts using the hashtag #TasteOfSoMi.

“This initiative is about celebrating the businesses that make South Miami unique,” said Mayor Javier Fernández. “Taste of SoMi creates an opportunity for the community to come together, explore new experiences, and support the incredible local restaurants and retailers that help define our city.”
