NFL News

The rumor was that the Dallas Cowboys were pursuing trades for star edge rushers Maxx Crosby and Trey Hendrickson, but team owner Jerry Jones set the record straight.

During a radio appearance, Jones denied that the Cowboys were on the verge of acquiring Crosby or Hendrickson from the Las Vegas Raiders or Cincinnati Bengals, respectively.

“There hasn’t been anything close to a deal,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, per The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “We’re looking at all phases of our roster. I don’t know if we will or not (make a trade).”

The Cowboys fell to 3-4-1 with Sunday’s 44-24 loss to the Denver Broncos. With the Nov. 4 trade deadline quickly approaching, Dallas is running out of time to improve its roster.

MLB

Vlad Guerrero Jr. hit a two-run homer off Shohei Ohtani in the third inning while Shane Bieber pitched four-hit ball into the sixth, as Toronto got back on track with a 6-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers to even the World Series at two games apiece.

NHL NEWS

Jake Oettinger made 24 saves, recording his first shutout of the season, and Tyler Seguin scored a power-play goal deflected off a Washington defenseman’s stick as the Dallas Stars beat the Capitals 1-0.

In other team news, Stars defenseman Thomas Harley agreed to an eight-year extension with the club carrying an average annual value of $10.587 million, general manager Jim Nill announced Tuesday night.

The deal, which secures a key player on the Dallas blue line, comes with a full no-movement clause after the first three years, sources told ESPN. Harley, 24, was the No. 18 pick of the 2019 draft and debuted for the team in 2021. He currently is second among Dallas skaters in ice time, trailing only Miro Heiskanen.
