Galactic Grind Coffee is currently located at 12223 San Pedro Avenue, right next to Beast Gym.

SAN ANTONIO — You don’t have to go to a galaxy far, far away to get a drink worthy of a Jedi – just head to the north side of the Alamo City.

The Star Wars-themed coffee truck, Galactic Grind Coffee, opened in December 2025 and thanks to popular demand the owners are already expecting to open a brick-and-mortar location by this summer on San Pedro Avenue.

Owners, Jens and Neda Schleicher said people from all over the Lone Star State come to visit Galactic Grind Coffee for its nostalgia and one-of-a-kind collectibles. Many people line up for the themed-drinks and for the chance to take photos with their life-size Stormtrooper and a multitude of helmets and other replica props.

Jens and Neda moved from Germany four years ago but have been Star Wars fans most of their lives. Jens, an artist and editor for the official Star Wars magazine, was vital in helping to set up Darkside Brick Oven Pizza in Boerne, Texas, which also pays homage to Star Wars and pop culture movies. Many of the collectibles and figures seen at Galactic Grind Coffee are part of Jens personal collection or are pieces he has created.

“Galactic Grind Coffee is from fans for fans,” Jens said. “And I love to serve our community.”

The coffee truck offers a multitude of drinks but Jens said their top three bestsellers are the Light side latte, the dark side latte and the Biscoff latte. The business operates with only three workers, so customers are encouraged to be patient when placing orders. Galactic Grind Coffee is open seven days a week until 1 p.m. with weekends being their busiest time. They are currently located at 12223 San Pedro Ave, right next to Beast Gym. Coffee-lovers can also order from Galactic Grind Coffee through DoorDash.
