ARLINGTON, Texas – Ohio State came into the College Football Playoff with the intent of winning consecutive national championships for the first time in program history. That goal will have to wait.

The Buckeyes enter the Playoff game on New Year’s Eve, but did not have the same results as a year ago. The second-seeded Scarlet and Gray fell 24-14 to No. 10 seed Miami on AT&T Stadium.

It was a tough game for Ohio State from the kickoff. The Buckeyes struggled to get anything going offensively in the first half. Once they started to find a rhythm in the second half, the Scarlet and Gray couldn’t get the needed stops to fully get back into the game.
I was in Dallas and at AT&T Stadium for the Cotton Bowl. Here is my stream of consciousness from Wednesday night.

9:23 a.m. Woke up on game day. It’s nice not having anything to do this morning after multiple early mornings. Got some work to get done before we head to AT&T Stadium.

12:07 p.m. Lunch time. The food out here has been great. Another solid meal. Going to get a little bit more done before departing.

2:03 p.m. Got on the bus to the stadium without my credential. I’m a mess. Good thing Garrick Hodge was still back at the hotel.

2:36 p.m. Arrived at the stadium. I’ll just walk around until Garrick gets here on the send bus. It’s a beautiful day in Dallas.

3:05 p.m. The second bus is here. Time to head in!

3:11 p.m. Made it up to the press box. Alright, now we’re good to go for the rest of the day. Time to watch Michigan and Nebraska.

3:39 p.m. I haven’t seen much of this Michigan-Texas game, but what I have seen tells me a few things. Michigan is still fighting, which I wasn’t sure about. Texas didn’t belong near the College Football Playoff.

3:55 p.m. Headed down to the field. Let’s see if anything’s changed around AT&T Stadium from earlier this year.

4:50 p.m. Ohio State arrives at AT&T Stadium. The Buckeyes look ready to go.
