MIAMI, October 28, 2026–(BUSINESS WIRE)–String Theory Schools, an award-winning educational institution recognized by Apple and George Lucas’ education foundation for its innovative approach to learning, has announced plans to establish an elite PreK-12th grade private school in Miami, targeting an opening in 2030 or sooner.

The proposed school would offer a distinctive educational experience that combines intensive study in the Performing and Visual Arts, Engineering/Computer Science, Biotechnology, and Business/Entrepreneurship with a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum. The school aims to foster creativity, innovation, and academic excellence while preparing students for success in higher education and beyond.

The initiative draws on String Theory’s flagship school in Philadelphia, where Advanced Math & Science and specialized majors complement a demanding academic curriculum.

The flagship school’s programs are supported by professional teaching, research and production environments. Biotechnology includes a Tissue Culture/Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) Laboratory. Dedicated spaces support Classical Ballet, Instrumental Music, Design and Fabrication, and Television and Broadcast Production. Advanced Pastry & Baking teaching kitchens and a bean-to-bar chocolate laboratory form part of a Hospitality and Food Entrepreneurship program encompassing coffee importing and roasting, commercial production, and wholesale sales to restaurants and hotels.

The proposed Miami school would adapt that approach with input from local families and community stakeholders. Younger children would explore a broad range of arts and sciences, progressing toward deeper study and specialization as they advance through school.

The announcement follows two years of evaluating locations and meeting with stakeholders in Miami, including in-depth interviews with hundreds of people. Recurring themes included a desire for rigorous academics, a broad range of programs and modern learning facilities. Families described wanting a school where children could explore different interests and pursue them in depth as they grow.

Those conversations also highlighted long waitlists and difficulty securing places at leading private schools, particularly in the early years and at the transition to middle school. Families in Miami’s urban core and surrounding neighborhoods described limited availability and lengthy school commutes. The proposed school would address that unmet demand by adding capacity for an education competitive with Miami’s leading independent schools.

String Theory is actively evaluating existing buildings and development opportunities along the corridor from Coconut Grove through Brickell, Downtown Miami and Edgewater to North Miami. The organization is reaching out to property owners, developers and commercial brokers to identify potential campus locations, including opportunities within major mixed-use developments. The location and development schedule will be announced as plans advance.

“We have spent two years listening to Miami families and working to identify the right opportunity,” said Jason Corosanite, co-founder of String Theory Schools. “We are committed to bringing an exceptional school to Miami. Finding the right campus is a critical next step, and we are looking for a setting where our academic and specialized programs can thrive.”

A more limited selection of grades may be offered at opening. Initial grade offerings would reflect the selected location, available facilities and enrollment demand. Additional grades would be introduced as the school grows.

The proposed school would be competitive with Miami’s leading independent schools in both programming and tuition.
