ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Strong National Museum of Play celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month on Saturday with a focus on traditional foods and cultural connections.

Visitors sampled foods that reflect Hispanic heritage, including the Dominican and Puerto Rican drink morir soñando, best described like a creamsicle. Organizers say these foods are more than just recipes—they represent family, history, and community.

“You don’t have Hispanic culture without the food. Food is how we connect. It’s how we show love. It’s how we maintain connection with our community,” said Isabel Larson. “So it’s really everything.”

The event is part of a larger effort by the American Dairy Association to highlight the role of dairy in Hispanic cuisine and promote nutrition while celebrating heritage.
