ATLANTA — A line of strong and severe storms has been moving into north Georgia.

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz says there is a risk for more strong to severe storms on Tuesday. There is a higher severe weather risk for south metro counties.

Nitz is tracking the storms LIVE on Channel 2 Action News at 4:00 p.m.

LIVE UPDATES:

4:57 p.m.

Ground stop lifted at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

According to the FAA, the current average delay at the Atlanta airport is 45 minutes.

4:30 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has expired in Lamar, Pike, Spalding and Upson counties until 4:30 p.m.

4:15 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has expired in Clayton, Fayette and Henry counties.

4:14 p.m.

Ground stop issued at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has been extended to 5:15 p.m.

3:58 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued in Lamar, Pike, Spalding and Upson counties until 4:30 p.m.

3:56 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been cancelled in Fayette County.

3:48 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued in Clayton, Fayette, Henry and Spalding counties until 4:15 p.m.

3:45 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has expired in Coweta and Meriwether counties.

3:30 p.m.

A Tornado Warning in Coweta and Fayette counties has been cancelled.

3:30 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has expired in Douglas, Fulton and Paulding counties.

3:23 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has expired in Carroll, Haralson and Heard counties.

3:15 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued in Clayton, Coweta, Fayette and Meriwether counties until 3:45 p.m.

3:14 p.m.

Ground stop issued at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has been extended to 4:15 p.m.

3:11 p.m.

A Tornado Warning has been issued in Coweta and Fayette counties until 3:45 p.m.

3:08 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has expired in Floyd and Polk counties.

2:56 p.m.

A Tornado Warning has expired in Carroll County.

2:46 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued in Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Fulton, Haralson, Heard and Paulding until 3:30 p.m.

2:45 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Troup County has expired.

2:44 p.m.

Ground stop issued at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport until 3:30 p.m.

2:29 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued in Carroll, Floyd, Haralson, Paulding and Polk counties until 3:15 p.m.

2:23 p.m.

A Tornado Warning has been issued in Carroll County until 3 p.m.

2:06 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued in Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Heard and Troup counties until 2:45 p.m.

The main threats are heavy rain, damaging wind gusts and hail.

There is also a low risk for a brief, spin-up tornado. Severe Weather Team 2 will be watching carefully. If we do have any tornado warnings, we will bring them to you immediately LIVE on Channel 2.
