Jayden Struble was traded to the Nashville Predators by the Montreal Canadiens on Friday for a second-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.
“Jayden Struble is a 25-year-old physical defender who will add mobility and a hard-to-play against quality that will help our backend,” Predators president of hockey operations and general manager Chris MacFarland said. “We are excited to watch his growth and look forward to him being a player who can grow with us.”
The defenseman is in the second season of a two-year, $2.825 million contract ($1.4125 million average annual value) he signed July 28, 2025.
Struble, who was in his fourth season with the Canadiens, has no points in three games and is averaging a career-low 12:05 of ice time per game. Selected by Montreal in the second round (No. 46) of the 2019 NHL Draft, he has 35 points (seven goals, 28 assists) in 174 regular-season games and no points in 14 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
