The Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the NBA Cup on Wednesday night, and therefore they will face each other this weekend.

The Suns will host the Lakers on Sunday at 6 p.m. MST at Mortgage Matchup Center. It will air on 98.7 and the Arizona Sports app.

Phoenix lost 138-89 to the juggernaut Thunder in the NBA Cup quarterfinals, as Oklahoma City improved to 24-1. Los Angeles fell to the San Antonio Spurs, 132-119.

The Thunder will play the Spurs and the New York Knicks will take on the Orlando Magic on Saturday in the semifinals in Las Vegas. The title game is on Tuesday.

Sunday will offer the second meeting between the Suns and Lakers this season, with Phoenix earning a 125-108 victory on Dec. 1 despite losing Devin Booker to a groin strain in the first half.

Booker has not played since. He was upgraded to a questionable designation before Wednesday’s loss to the Thunder but did not suit up.

The Suns do not have another game before Sunday’s matchup with the Lakers, giving Booker a few extra days to heal up. After that, the Suns play again on Dec. 18 against the Golden State Warriors at Mortgage Matchup Center.
