Authorities said they are unsure where or why the suspect opened fire.
SAN ANTONIO — Two men were shot near a major highway on the northeast side Tuesday night, San Antonio police said.
Officers responded to a call along I-35 N Frontage Road near Rittiman Road by a La Quinta Inn around 8:30 p.m.
Police found two men in their 40s with multiple gunshot wounds. One man was shot in the stomach and the other was hit in the arm.
Authorities said they are unsure where or why the suspect opened fire.
Both men were taken to a local hospital. One of them was later pronounced dead.
A suspect was detained at the scene.
Officers also found blood trails and bullet casings in the area.
Police said this is an ongoing investigation.
